Preschool

Trenton started preschool 2 weeks after he turned 3 at The Adventure Program, a ministry of Windwood Presbyterian Church.  He was so excited to go.  I, on the other hand, was nervous to send my first child to school even though it is only 2 days a week from 9 to 1pm.  On the first day of class I dropped him off and he gave me a big hug and said “I love you mom, have a good day, I’ll see you later.”

We are so excited that Samuel and Cannon are in the same class!
He has adjusted so well and I always get great reports from his teacher, Mrs. Flemming.  She told me she assumed he had been in preschool before because of how well he was doing and she was surprised he is the youngest kid in her class of 10 kids.
One of my favorite things in the world to see is these two kids hugging!  On the way home from his first day of school he said "I pretty missed Allison a lot."  It is so good for them to have some time apart  because it allows them to realize it is fun to have a sibling.  Allison likewise always gets excited when I tell her it is time to pick up Trenton.

Trenton's 3rd Birthday

Trenton had been talking about his birthday party for several months prior to the event, so we knew we needed to make him feel special.  With a year long obsession with Superheros, it only seemed appropriate to do a Superhero themed party.  It never ceases to amaze me how many Superhero facts he knows!  Really, ask him anything.  He is also often dressed up, running around like his favorite superhero of the week.
His only request for his birthday was to have a BIG BLUE cake.  He is easy to please.

A pinata seemed like a good idea at the time.  I will remember next time that a bunch of 3 year olds swinging a baseball bat, excited about candy takes a lot of adult supervision.
I was able to talk Deven into learning how to make balloon swords for the kids at the party.  We also attempted to play Pin The Mask On The Superhero.  But I must say the biggest success of the party were the homemade superhero capes that my sister helped me make the night before.  I owe her big time for helping me put the party together!  Thanks Taylor!
Trenton is the most gracious gift getter.  Although he was SUPER excited to open presents, he would always say thank you and even stop to "read" birthday cards.
Happy Birthday to our little Superhero boy!

Taylor and Aspen Visit!

This picture brings joy to my heart!  It was so fun to have Taylor and her 16 month old sweetie, Aspen, here to visit us in Houston.  Both of our husbands were out of town and "misery loves company," so Taylor flew in for a week.  We definitely will do this more often now that she lives in the States and Aspen and Allison are beginning to interact with each other.
Snack time...
Bath time...
Pajama time...
Cry time...
...I don't know who started it.
But there was an equal amount of cousin love...
Although it was HOT in August, I was determined to go out and play.  We just packed ice cold water bottles for our red faced kids.
We went to the Houston Aquarium one morning and yes, we dressed the girls in matching clothes again.  We walked through the aquarium, the white tiger exhibit, rode on a fairs wheel, marry-go-round, a train ride through a shark tank and played in the splash pad.

I do not know who's kids these are...
I am so excited to have a cousin so close in age to Allison and to watch these girls grow up together!  Come visit again soon!
